Talking of names …

X-RAY FISH

Girls can have such pretty names,
Priscilla, say, or Petra,
My name is beautiful as well:
I’m called Pristella Tetra.

If your name’s plain, perhaps you wish
You were, like me, an X-ray fish.

    Thanks, Mary. It’s a sea-through poem (!) He he.

Not related to this poem, although it’s fab too! Just wanted to say that the class really enjoyed the cake-o-saurus poem you kindly emailed to me. They made some brilliant poems and there was even a haribo-o-saurus too! Lots of imaginative names from your poem! Thanks again! xxxx

So pleased to hear it! And more lovely names by the sound of it! Cool-o-saurus!

    Hello Celia,
How can I get a copy of your poem Cake o saurus? My son would like to read it (he is nearly 7). It is on the shortlist for poetry reading for the Leigh on Sea Music and Drama Festival.
    Many thanks,
    Claire Hankey

      Hello, Claire,
It may well be that the festival organisers will supply you with copies of poems they’ve suggested if you apply to them. However, I like to ring the changes of poems that appear on this site, so I have put it up here for a limited period. Just click on ‘Poems’ and it will take you there. Hope your son enjoys reading it – lots of scope for lingering over the tasty-sounding words, I hope! 🙂
