Fond fantasy …

FATHER FEATHERS

We who love those
Who loved birds
Think our loved one comes back
As a robin:
Eye meeting eye,
The implicit trust,
The seemingly mutual feeling
Of intimacy.

If my little robin
Is truly the father I miss,
I shall go and eat worms in the garden
And blow him a kiss.
